Project Overview
The Reaching Impact, Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE) Project is funded by the U.S. Department of State (DoS) to support malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and monitoring and evaluation activities across Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
The project is implemented in close collaboration with:
- National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP)
- Zanzibar Malaria Elimination Programme (ZAMEP)
- Regional Administration and Local Government (RALG)
RISE strengthens alignment with national malaria strategies, improves service delivery quality, and enhances health system performance and resilience.
Implementation Context
The current implementation period (December 2025 – September 2026) requires intensive, time-bound, multi-region field execution, supported by:
- Strong implementation management
- Effective stakeholder coordination
- Consistent operational follow-through
Position Title
Senior Assistant Administrator (SAA)
Program: RISE Tanzania Malaria Program
Job Type: Full-time
Position Summary
The Senior Assistant Administrator (SAA) provides day-to-day field-level administrative, logistics, and operational support to the RISE Tanzania Malaria Program.
Reporting to the Field Team Leader, with cross-cutting support from the Senior Program Officer, the SAA plays a critical role in ensuring that field teams are well organized, adequately supported, and able to implement activities efficiently.
The role serves as a key connector between field teams and technical and operational support functions, contributing to strong systems, timely processes, and well-documented records that enable effective field implementation and overall project management.
Reporting & Coordination
- Reports to: Field Team Leader
- Functional Support: Senior Program Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to field teams
- Coordinate procurement-related requests and follow up with relevant support units
- Support logistics and fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling and documentation
- Manage inventory, stores, and asset records at field level
- Support office administration, filing, and documentation systems
- Ensure timely processing of administrative and logistical requests
- Maintain accurate and well-organized records to support audits and reporting
- Serve as a liaison between field teams and technical/operations staff
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong planning and negotiation skills
- Good level of computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
