Position overview

  • Position title: Senior human resources officer

  • Location: New Luika Gold Mine, Songwe – Tanzania

  • Reporting to: Human resources manager

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Roster: 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off

Key responsibilities

HR service delivery and coordination

  • Workforce planning, recruitment, and selection

  • Development and implementation of HR policies and procedures

  • Performance management processes

  • Training and development initiatives

  • Day-to-day HR advisory support to management and employees

Employee and labour relations support

  • Management of disciplinary and grievance processes

  • Support employee engagement initiatives

  • Interpretation and application of employment policies and labour regulations

HR systems and records management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements

HR reporting, compliance, and audits

  • Prepare HR operational and compliance reports

  • Respond to internal and external audit queries

  • Ensure adherence to Tanzanian labour laws and company policies

Remuneration and benefits support

  • Assist in compiling salary and benefits data

  • Prepare salary review documentation in line with approved mandates

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, business administration, or a related field

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ HR management experience

  • Proven experience within the mining or extractive industry
