Job Overview
Tabono Consult, on behalf of a client, is seeking a visionary, high-energy, and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead the automotive sales division in Tanzania.
This role is designed for a seasoned sales leader who can not only close high-value deals but also inspire, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of six or more Sales Associates. The successful candidate will play a critical role in defining market entry strategies, expanding dealer networks, and ensuring consistent achievement of aggressive sales targets.
We are looking for a professional who leads by example, transforms individual talent into a cohesive winning team, and treats every client relationship as a cornerstone for sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6+ Sales Associates
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and pipeline inspections
- Set clear KPIs, individual sales targets, and territory assignments
- Drive accountability in:
- Prospecting activities
- Lead follow-ups
- CRM data accuracy
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for market entry and expansion
- Drive market share growth across Tanzania
- Identify and secure high-value B2B corporate accounts and fleet deals
- Support the team in closing complex and high-stakes negotiations
Business Development & Partnerships
- Expand the dealer network and establish strategic partnerships
- Strengthen the company’s retail footprint nationwide
Reporting & Operations
- Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts
- Present detailed performance reports to executive management
- Oversee inventory planning and coordinate with:
- Supply chain teams
- After-sales teams
- Ensure seamless vehicle delivery and high customer satisfaction
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Marketing to design:
- Targeted campaigns
- Promotional events
- Vehicle demonstrations
Requirements
- 6–8 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a sales team
(Preferably in automotive or high-value asset sectors) - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
(Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage) - Proven track record of:
- Building and scaling sales teams
- Developing talent
- Consistently exceeding team targets
- Strong understanding of:
- Tanzanian automotive market
- Dealer networks
- Corporate B2B procurement processes
- Advanced skills in:
- Negotiation
- Financial modeling for bulk deals
- CRM software and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
