Job Purpose:
To lead a high-performing team in analysing, designing, and deploying robust software solutions that streamline bank operations. Bridge the gap between complex business requirements and scalable technical execution, ensuring the bank’s digital infrastructure remains cutting-edge and efficient.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Architectural Direction
Provide technical leadership and architectural direction during the implementation of new features, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
Lead systems scoping, design, and pricing exercises in collaboration with business and development teams.
Proactively identify and document technical debt, creating roadmaps to address it and ensure a healthy codebase.
Recommend changes to policies, processes, and procedures to enhance the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Software Engineering Excellence
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while enforcing strict coding standards across the team.
Ensure all solutions are production-ready by incorporating crucial logs and observability capabilities for real-time operational monitoring.
Integrate advanced development practices, including test automation, feature flags, and systematic refactoring of existing modules.
Manage the integration of diverse software subsystems into a unified whole, ensuring seamless interoperability across the bank’s digital ecosystem.

Security, Compliance & Problem-Solving
Implement and adhere to strict security protocols and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS). Foster a security-first culture within the engineering team.
Lead the debugging and resolution of complex software defects and production issues. Collaborate with DevOps and support teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Evaluate user requirements and impact analyses to determine the feasibility and effort required for proposed technical solutions.

Mentorship & Collaboration
Support and grow the engineering team through structured coaching, mentorship, and the implementation of a knowledge-sharing program.
Conduct rigorous code reviews to maintain quality and distribute expertise among team members.
Work closely with QA, DevOps, Security, and Product teams to deliver high-quality software on time and within scope.
Knowledge and Skills:
Expert knowledge in programming languages Java, JavaScript, Python, Kotlin, or Swift
Bonus C# and PHP
Expert Knowledge in Spring Framework, React JS/ Native, Flutter or Angular
Bonus Laravel
Deep familiarity with Agile (Scrum) development environments.
Excellent communication, pragmatic problem-solving, and thorough analytical thinking skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 4 years of core software development experience.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and release management.
Strong grasp of solid principles, design patterns, and clean code practices.
Proven experience with various databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
Agile/Scrum Certification is preferred.
Proven track record in Backend, Web & Mobile Application Development (full-stack)
Previous experience integrating Banking Products/Systems.
