Job Title: Social Worker

Duty Station: Kibondo Field Office, Kigoma Region (Serving Nduta and Nyarugusu Refugee Camps and Host Communities)

Job Purpose: To support the identification, case management, and protection of Persons with Specific Needs (PSNs), including older people and persons with disabilities. The role focuses on psychosocial support, referrals, and community-based protection (CBP).
Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Conduct all steps of the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case management process for survivors and individuals at risk.

Home Visits: Perform routine home visits to improve protection outcomes, dignity, and wellbeing.

Standards Compliance: Operate in line with survivor-centered principles, inter-agency GBV standards, and national referral pathways.

Community Support: Strengthen family, peer, and community support systems through CBP mechanisms.

Outreach: Execute duties through center-based activities or mobile outreach.
Candidate Specifications
Essential Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, Community Psychology, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of two years in social work, protection, GBV response, or health programming.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience in GBV case management and a strong understanding of protection principles and humanitarian standards.

General Skills: Basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel), ability to prepare clear reports, and strong interpersonal communication.

Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Desirable Attributes
-
Experience working with refugee or displacement-affected populations.

Ability to speak Kirundi and/or French.
