1. STOREKEEPER
Location: Dar es salaam.
· Position purpose:
The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient management of the company’s stores and inventory related to drilling and mining operations. This includes receiving, recording, storing, issuing, and monitoring of materials, tools, equipment, fuel, and spare parts to ensure proper stock control, accuracy, and timely availability of required items for field operations.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
1. Inventory and Stock Management
i) Maintain accurate inventory records of all drilling and mining materials, consumables, tools, fuel, lubricants, and spare parts.
ii) Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock checks and reconcile physical stock with system or manual records.
iii) Monitor stock levels and initiate timely re-ordering of materials to avoid shortages or overstocking.
iv) Ensure all stock movements (receipts, issues, returns, transfers) are properly recorded and authorized.
v) Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or expired items and report to management for appropriate action.
2. Receiving and Inspection
i) Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment from suppliers or project sites.
ii) Inspect items for quantity, quality, and conformity to purchase orders and delivery notes.
iii) Reject and document non-conforming goods and liaise with Procurement or suppliers for replacement.
3. Issuing and Dispatching
i) Issue approved materials and spare parts to drilling teams, mechanics, or site supervisors as per material requisition forms.
ii) Ensure proper documentation for all materials issued or transferred between sites.
iii) Coordinate with logistics or transport personnel to ensure timely dispatch of goods to project locations.
iv) Maintain proper records of fuel issuance and consumption logs for all equipment and vehicles
.
4. Store Organization and Safety
i) Ensure the store area is clean, secure, well-organized, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
ii) Arrange materials systematically for easy access, identification, and safety (flammable, hazardous, and heavy items).
iii) Implement proper storage and handling procedures to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
iv) Control access to store facilities and ensure authorized personnel only handle materials.
5. Record Keeping and Reporting
i) Maintain up-to-date stock cards, bin cards, and computerized records (ERP or Excel-based systems).
ii) Prepare periodic reports such as stock movement, consumption analysis, reorder status, and fuel usage.
iii) Support finance and audit departments during physical inventory verifications and reconciliations.
iv) Generate material usage reports for drilling and mining projects to support cost and performance analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
i) Diploma or Certificate in Storekeeping, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
ii) Minimum of 3–5 years working experience as a storekeeper or inventory controller, preferably in a drilling, mining, or heavy equipment industry.
iii) Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP, QuickBooks, or Excel).
iv) Familiarity with drilling and mining consumables, tools, and spare parts.
v) Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
vi) Basic mechanical knowledge of drilling or mining equipment (advantageous).
vii) Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
viii) High level of integrity and accountability.
