Supply Chain Lead
Organization: Africa Healthcare Network (AHN)
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reports To: Finance Controller

Job Summary
The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including:
- Ordering, issuing, and tracking medical consumables
- Managing procurement of medical equipment
- Supporting equipment distribution to external clients
The role ensures timely, accurate, and cost-effective supply chain operations that support clinical services and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers
- Manage ordering, follow-ups, and timely delivery of supplies
- Liaise with the Tanzania Food & Drug Authority (TFDA) for:
- Licenses
- Permits
- Regulatory approvals
- Identify reliable vendors and support:
- Contract negotiations
- Procurement planning
2. Inventory & Warehouse Operations
- Monitor stock levels across AHN centers and central warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Sage warehouse management software
- Receive and store supplies properly
- Segregate:
- Damaged stock
- Expired items
- Support regular inventory audits
- Track and resolve stock discrepancies
- Analyze inventory data to:
- Identify usage trends
- Flag fast/slow-moving items
- Optimize reordering decisions
3. Distribution & Logistics
- Plan and manage shipment schedules to AHN centers
- Coordinate:
- Packaging
- Dispatch
- Delivery
- Supervise drivers and ensure compliance with delivery protocols
- Manage fleet operations to ensure zero downtime
- Achieve 100% on-time and complete (OTC) deliveries
- Resolve logistical challenges proactively
4. Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
- Collaborate with:
- CEO
- COO
- Country Head
- Align inventory with new facility expansion plans
- Maintain strong customer relationships
- Ensure response time of less than 1 business day
- Process orders accurately and support invoicing with Finance
- Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the supply chain
5. Strategic & Growth Support
- Scale supply chain operations as the organization grows
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Support planning for equipment distribution business
- Use supply chain data to:
- Improve forecasting
- Enhance cost efficiency
- Increase inventory accuracy
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- Supply Chain Officer(s)
- Supply Chain Assistant
Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics
- Business Administration (or related field)
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience
- Healthcare sector experience is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in:
- Inventory & procurement systems (Sage preferred)
- ERP / inventory management tools
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong data analysis capability
