Summary

The primary responsibility of the Systems and Network Analyst is to install, upgrade, and maintain computer systems, applications, and peripherals for FINCA’s Data Centers and branch offices. This role ensures that applications remain operational at all times, handles day-to-day system issues, responds to staff-reported problems, and manages software licensing compliance.

Essential Duties

• Develop, install, test, and document operating systems and associated applications as per FINCA IT policies.
• Manage SharePoint content and promote user adoption by creating and configuring sites, document libraries, lists, and forms.
• Install and manage CISCO and Fortinet devices (switches, routers, firewalls) under supervisor guidance.
• Install, configure, and maintain storage hardware and backups, including physical and virtual tape libraries and disk storage targets.
• Assist in evaluating new desktop technologies and determine hardware/software needs in collaboration with technical staff.
• Maintain daily security of hardware and software.
• Perform backups for all critical machines.
• Respond to problem reports, system crashes, hardware failures, and power outages.
• Provide system usage guidance and support to office staff.
• Maintain passwords, group files, and web server access.
• Ensure all computer applications are licensed and up-to-date.
• Install anti-virus software and OS patches according to IT policies.
• Configure and manage the mail system.
• Serve as custodian of IT assets.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Systems and Network Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft
• Minimum 1 year of experience in technical support, including hardware, software, and network support
• Proven ability to efficiently resolve technical problems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to assess user competence and tailor support accordingly
• Experience in high-pressure environments preferred

Education & Professional Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Microsoft or relevant professional certification is required
• Linux professional certification is an added advantage
• CCNA or CCNP certification is a plus
• Experience with Fortinet and CISCO Firewalls is an added advantage
