Position: Blower & Filler Machine Operator

Key Job Purpose

To ensure the effective, efficient, and safe operation of blower and filler machines in order to achieve maximum production output in line with agreed production targets while maintaining quality, safety, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Production

Prepare machines for production and ensure proper start-up procedures are followed.
Ensure CIP (Clean-In-Place) processes and machine start-ups are completed correctly and within the required time.
Coordinate with the syrup room during machine start-ups, batch changes, and shutdowns.
Operate machines while observing safety, hygiene, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Ensure availability of packaging materials such as caps and preforms before and during production.
Monitor and manage material wastage to ensure efficient use of resources.

Monitoring & Reporting

Record all operational data during production and monitor equipment performance on an hourly basis.
Reconcile material usage and production output after every shift.
Report machine faults, breakdowns, or abnormal machine behavior to the Production Supervisor.

Maintenance & Equipment Care

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities, including machine lubrication, and maintain proper maintenance records.
Ensure machines and conveyors are switched off when not in use.
Maintain cleanliness of machines and surrounding work areas at all times.
Ensure all machine change parts are properly stored and kept clean.

Team Support

Train and support other machine operators to enhance operational efficiency.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor in line with production objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
VETA Level 3 certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.
Experience operating machines from brands such as Krones, Sidel, or KHS is highly preferred.
Prior experience in the beverage manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
