Objective of the Role
To support the Hydrogeology Team in collecting and managing field data from both open pit and underground operations to support mining targets and operational efficiency.
The role also contributes to improving daily hydrogeological processes and ensuring alignment with company goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
Field Data Collection & Monitoring
- Conduct groundwater monitoring, including borehole measurements and sampling
- Collect, record, and analyze hydrogeological data
- Identify abnormal trends or risks and report to supervisors
Water Management Support
- Assist in dewatering systems and water control infrastructure
- Support maintenance of pumping systems
- Ensure effective water management practices
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records in hydrogeological systems/databases
- Prepare reports, logs, and summaries of field data
- Ensure timely and accurate data reporting
Compliance & Collaboration
- Support compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Work closely with:
- Engineers
- Geologists
- Environmental teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma in:
- Geology
- Hydrogeology
- Hydrology
(from a recognized institution)
Licensing
- Valid driving license
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 1–2 years’ experience in hydrogeology or mining operations (added advantage)
- Experience in:
- Water monitoring
- Sampling
- Hydrogeological fieldwork
Technical Skills
- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good fieldwork capabilities
