As part of its ongoing growth, Lake Cement is inviting applications from enthusiastic and talented young engineers to join its technical team as Trainee Instrumentation Engineers.
Position: Trainee Instrumentation Engineer
This internship opportunity is designed for fresh graduates who are passionate about instrumentation, automation, and process engineering. The selected trainees will gain valuable hands-on experience working with modern industrial systems and process automation equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering.
- Experience: Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of industrial training experience (preferably in a process industry).
- Registration: Bachelor’s degree holders must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania (ERB) — mandatory requirement.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
- Willingness to learn about plant instrumentation and automation systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters).
- Support the calibration of sensors, transmitters, and controllers as per maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate calibration logs and service records.
- Assist in PLC, DCS, and SCADA configuration changes under supervision.
- Support control valve sizing, logic testing, and loop checks.
- Participate in installation and commissioning of instrumentation and automation systems.
- Adhere to all safety standards and promptly report unsafe conditions.
