Job Summary

Securiport Tanzania is looking for an Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, support financial reporting, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, company policies, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare and process journals, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Process supplier invoices and payment documentation.
• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain proper documentation for payments and receipts.
• Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and annual financial statements.
• Prepare supporting schedules and information for management and auditors.
• Assist with tax computations and statutory returns.
• Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Support compliance with internal financial controls and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a structured corporate environment.
• CPA qualification is an added advantage.
• Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
