Job Summary
The ICT Officer II will participate in the development and maintenance of secure, responsive and user-friendly web and mobile applications, with a particular focus on frontend development, mobile application development, API integration, testing and software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of web and mobile applications.
- Develop web interfaces using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, Tailwind CSS and modern CSS techniques.
- Build reusable UI components while observing approved accessibility standards.
- Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Package and publish mobile applications through the Google Play Console and Apple App Store.
- Integrate applications with REST APIs, GraphQL services and other enterprise interfaces.
- Implement appropriate application state-management patterns.
- Conduct application testing, debugging and performance optimization.
- Resolve software defects and participate in code reviews.
- Use Git-based repositories for collaborative software development and source-code management.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform other official duties assigned by the supervisor.
Education Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Computer Engineering
- An equivalent qualification from a recognized higher learning institution
Candidates must also have practical project experience or a demonstrable software development portfolio.
Technical Skills & Competencies
Applicants should have:
- Hands-on experience with Angular 14 or later.
- Alternatively, strong experience with Vue.js, React or Svelte, with the ability and willingness to adapt to Angular.
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript.
- Understanding of object-oriented and reactive programming.
- Knowledge of:
- Tailwind CSS
- HTML5
- Flexbox
- CSS Grid
- Angular Material
- Practical experience with Flutter and Dart for cross-platform mobile development.
- Experience with state-management approaches such as NgRx.
- Basic knowledge of publishing apps through Google Play Console and Apple App Store.
- Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and GraphQL.
- Understanding of GraphQL queries and mutations.
- Familiarity with Apollo Client or GraphQL Flutter.
- Proficiency in Git, GitHub or GitLab.
Added Advantage
Knowledge of UI/UX design using Figma or similar design tools will be an added advantage.
Remuneration
The position is offered under the PPRA 5 remuneration scale.
