TRA SACCOS LTD is a registered Savings and Credit Co-operative Society based in Dar es Salaam. The organization mobilizes savings from members and provides accessible credit facilities. It operates as a Class B licensed microfinance institution in accordance with the Microfinance Act No. 10 of 2018 and the Co-operative Societies Act, Cap 211.

Job Purpose

The System Programming and Database Officer I will manage and support databases, information systems, and software applications by ensuring data accuracy, system reliability, security, and effective technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and secure databases, including installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Design, develop, and maintain databases, applications, scripts, and system components.
• Develop, customize, test, deploy, and maintain secure web-based and desktop applications.
• Support system integration and troubleshoot database and application issues.
• Implement appropriate information security controls.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma with Upper Second Class or above in:
  • Information Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • or another ICT-related discipline from a recognized institution.
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience.

Additional Qualifications

Possession of any of the following certifications will be an added advantage:

• CCNA
• CISSP
• CEH
• CISM
• OCA
• CISA
• CompTIA Security
• Other relevant ICT certifications.

Knowledge and proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Go will also be an added advantage.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of:

• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Database administration
• Software engineering
• System architecture
