1.0 Introduction

TAHA is an apex private sector member-based organization mandated to develop and promote horticulture (flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and horticultural seeds) in Tanzania.

TAHA’s goal is to improve the growth and competitiveness of horticultural industry in the country for social and economic gains. TAHA is a unified voicing platform for Tanzania horticulture, representing farmers at all levels, processors, exporters and service providers in the horticultural industry in Tanzania.

TAHA is seeking for a motivated and experienced Tanzanian to fill the position described below.

Position: ICT Intern (1)

Reporting To: ICT Officer
Duty Station: Arusha, Tanzania

Position Summary

The ICT Intern will be responsible for providing technical support and backstopping to the ICT function, assisting staff with routine ICT-related issues, maintaining ICT equipment and systems, and supporting the smooth and reliable operation of the organization’s technology environment.

2.0 Scope of Work

A. Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support to staff on computers, printers, scanners, internet connectivity, email, software, and other ICT-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine hardware and software problems.
  • Install, configure, update, and maintain approved software and applications.
  • Support troubleshooting of connectivity and access-related issues.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the ICT Officer or appropriate service provider.

B. ICT Systems and User Support

  • Assist staff with user accounts, system access, password resets, and routine ICT support.
  • Support users in the effective use of organizational ICT systems and applications.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT devices.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities by preparing and configuring ICT equipment and user access as directed.
  • Maintain records of ICT support requests and actions taken.

C. Hardware and ICT Asset Support

  • Assist in maintaining computers, laptops, printers, network devices, and other ICT equipment.
  • Support the ICT Officer in maintaining an updated ICT asset register.
  • Monitor the condition and utilization of ICT equipment and report faults or replacement needs.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance of ICT equipment.

D. Network and Connectivity Support

  • Assist with basic troubleshooting of LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and related network issues.
  • Monitor and report recurring connectivity problems.
  • Support the ICT Officer in maintaining network-related documentation.

E. Digital Systems and ERP Support

  • Assist users with routine system access and functionality issues.
  • Support testing of system updates and enhancements as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, ICT, or a related field.

Experience

  • Understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, operating systems, and ICT support.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve routine technical problems.
  • Practical exposure to ICT support of at least one (1) year will be an added advantage.
