Role Overview

The Environmental Expert shall ensure that all project activities comply with environmental laws, regulations, Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), and sustainability requirements throughout the construction period.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with approved Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs).
• Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
• Identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with construction activities.
• Monitor waste management, pollution control, erosion prevention, and rehabilitation measures.
• Ensure compliance with national environmental legislation and international best practices.
• Prepare environmental monitoring reports and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate environmental awareness and training programs for project personnel.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and local communities on environmental matters.
• Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive environmental actions.
• Support environmental incident investigations and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification in environmental management is desirable.
• Must have served as an Environmental Expert in at least one airport construction project within the last ten (10) years.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in environmental management for infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental monitoring and implementation of ESMPs.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and safeguards applicable to construction projects.
