Duties and Responsibilities

The ICT Officer – System Administrator will be responsible for:

1. Supporting and assisting in the management of ICT systems and tools.
2. Assisting in the analysis, design, modification, and support of computer information systems.
3. Installing, configuring, and maintaining computers, workstations, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems.
4. Installing programmes, conducting testing and monitoring, and maintaining software packages and application systems.
5. Troubleshooting computer system challenges and supporting the proper functioning of ICT systems.
6. Assisting in the maintenance of computer networks and personal computing infrastructure.
7. Evaluating the operational performance of ICT systems and programmes.
8. Planning and implementing network security and managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, and user account creation and deletion.
9. Investigating, recommending, and installing enhancements and operating procedures that optimise network availability.
10. Establishing and performing maintenance programmes in accordance with the Institute’s and vendors’ standards.
11. Troubleshooting, upgrading, and configuring disk drives, data acquisition boards, printers, and other related ICT equipment.
12. Maintaining, reviewing, and renewing ICT-related site licences.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification from a recognised institution.
• At least three (3) years of work experience in the Information Technology field.
