Communication Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

The Communication Officer will be responsible for the following:

1. Support the implementation of the Institute’s corporate communications strategy.
2. Participate in strengthening and expanding relationships with the Institute’s stakeholders and members of the general public.
3. Assist in drafting responses to customers’ inquiries, complaints, and requests in accordance with the Institute’s policies.
4. Assist in handling media inquiries and arrange interviews with stakeholders, targeted leaders, and other experts.
5. Create and update the Institute’s stakeholder database for information sharing.
6. Assist and participate in writing publications for the Institute.
7. Assist in monitoring internal communication and provide recommendations as required.
8. Assist in creating content and updating the Institute’s website and social media platforms.
9. Assist in coordinating sensitisation workshops and seminars for staff to enhance effective communication.
10. Assist in preparing content related to the Institute’s programmes and activities, including marketing materials, research, event reports, strategic plans, and annual plans.
11. Coordinate logistical arrangements for the production of interviews to be filmed for the Institute’s television programmes.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
  • Mass Communication
  • Journalism
  • Public Relations
  • Marketing
  • Business Administration majoring in Marketing
  • International Relations
  • Business Communication
  • Equivalent related qualification from a recognised institution
• At least three (3) years of work experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations.
