About the Role

The Solar Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing and commissioning solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar water heating systems across the company’s safari lodges.

The successful candidate will help ensure reliable, efficient and safe energy systems while supporting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and new installations across existing and upcoming properties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain, inspect and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and solar water heating systems.

2. Troubleshoot technical issues involving solar panels, inverters, batteries, pumps and electrical connections.

3. Install, test and commission new solar systems across existing and upcoming properties.

4. Communicate directly with international manufacturers to resolve technical challenges.

5. Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure reliable, efficient and safe energy systems.

6. Travel between safari lodges to support maintenance operations and new installations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Technical qualification in solar technology, electrical installation, renewable energy or a related field.

• Practical experience with solar PV systems, inverters, batteries and solar water heating systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and installation specifications.

• Good English communication skills.

• A valid driving licence.

• Willingness to travel frequently between safari lodges.

• Experience working in hospitality environments or remote locations will be an added advantage.
