Utilities Operator – BOP Utilities

Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to operate and monitor utilities plants, including:
- Steam Plant
- Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) Plant
- Air Plant
- Water Treatment Plants
- Refrigeration Systems
The BOP Utilities Operator is responsible for executing quality control checks, monitoring utilities performance, and supporting the Utilities Technical Operator in the safe and efficient operation of utilities plants.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Utilities Equipment Performance Monitoring
- Monitor utilities equipment performance and measure key performance attributes
- Conduct first-line maintenance tasks (ATO) as per schedules
- Apply Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures
- Maintain workplace safety, housekeeping, and risk-free standards
- Optimize production and utilities performance
- Operate plant and process equipment safely and efficiently
Process Monitoring and Operations
- Interpret and execute production plans
- Maintain continuous and reliable utilities operations
- Ensure quality control of utilities supply
- Identify, report, and escalate plant, machine, and process issues
- Conduct autonomous operator maintenance
- Perform operator-level breakdown maintenance tasks
Teamwork and Communication
- Work effectively within teams
- Communicate clearly and professionally in the workplace
- Contribute to personal and team development initiatives
Compliance and Safety
- Prepare boilers for government inspections
- Ensure all safety standards and statutory requirements are strictly adhered to

Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, preferably in a utilities environment
- Basic PC literacy
- Experience working with boilers will be an added advantage
