General Manager Couple – Vacancy Details

Position Overview

• Role: General Manager Couple
• Location: A historic boutique lodge and working farm, Karatu, Arusha
• Reporting To: Group Management / Group Operations Director
• Compensation: A competitive salary package offered to qualified candidates

Key Responsibilities

The General Manager Couple will collaborate to oversee the overall management of the property. Primary responsibilities include:

1. Operations & Guest Experience
   • Manage all aspects of the lodge including food & beverage, wellness, and spa services
   • Ensure an exceptional guest experience
2. Farm & Coffee Management
   • Oversee organic fruit and vegetable production
   • Manage sustainable livestock operations
   • Supervise organic coffee cultivation and production
3. Financial Management
   • Develop budgets and financial forecasts
   • Manage CAPEX programs in collaboration with the CFO and Project Manager
4. Human Resources
   • Lead recruitment, staff wellbeing, and training initiatives
   • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian Labor Laws
5. Sales & Marketing
   • Maintain agent partnerships
   • Manage social media and web presence
   • Represent the company at tradeshows
6. Infrastructure & Security
   • Supervise maintenance of historical infrastructure
   • Ensure all security and emergency protocols are current

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years managing a boutique luxury lodge, preferably in a remote location
• Education: Tertiary degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and/or Business Administration
• Technical Skills: Proficient in financial management, IT, project management, sales, and marketing
• Leadership: Empathetic leadership style focused on mentorship; proven track record of revenue and profitability growth
• Advantageous Skills:
  • Multilingual (including Swahili)
  • Flair for interior décor and art appreciation
  • Qualifications or experience in Yoga, Pilates, Conservation, or Photography
