Role Overview
The Packaging Process Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining packaging processes to ensure:
- Consistent product quality
- Maximum production throughput
- Minimal waste
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Operations
- Operate packaging machinery (start-up, shutdown, and running operations)
- Manage waste during production processes
- Perform brand and pack changeovers
Process Monitoring & Control
- Monitor production processes and control inputs
- Conduct quality checks to ensure product standards
- Track process performance and identify deviations
- Take corrective actions when processes are out of control
Maintenance & Cleaning
- Perform first-level maintenance on equipment
- Conduct in-depth cleaning of machines and work areas
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations
- Execute VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) routines
Teamwork & Communication
- Participate actively in team activities
- Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers
- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Performance & Decision-Making
- Support commercial decision-making within the packaging environment
- Demonstrate strong discipline and commitment to quality standards
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Trade Test (Mechanical or Electrical)
Experience & Skills
- Experience in a packaging or production environment
- Ability to work shifts
- Strong attention to detail
- Quick response to out-of-control situations
- Problem-solving ability
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and labor legislation
