Job Opportunity: IT Support Specialist at Northern Engineering Works Ltd (NEWL)
Northern Engineering Works Ltd is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Support Specialist to join their team within the Research and Development (READ) department. This role is responsible for maintaining IT systems and supporting the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities
-
Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.

Infrastructure: Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other IT equipment.

System Health: Monitor and maintain IT systems and networks, diagnosing and resolving faults.

User Support: Assist users in person, over the phone, or remotely.

Documentation: Maintain IT asset records and system documentation.
-
Security: Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are strictly followed.

HSE Compliance: Ensure all IT operations comply with company safety policies and support the implementation of workplace safety systems like CCTV and access control.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience: Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, Windows systems, and cybersecurity basics.

Soft Skills: Good communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Safety: Basic understanding of HSE principles and workplace safety practices.
Added Advantages

Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.

Experience with CCTV, biometric systems, or access control systems.

Previous exposure to HSE compliance in a workplace.
