Main Purpose of the Role
The Pharmacy Storekeeper will manage pharmacy and medical warehouse storage activities to ensure:
- Continuous stock availability
- Proper storage conditions
- Compliance with pharmaceutical standards
- Accurate stock management and reporting
The role works closely with the Pharmacy Supervisor and Logistics Team.
Key Responsibilities
Stock & Warehouse Management
- Supervise medical material orders and dispatch.
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities against manifests.
- Store medicines according to recommended standards.
- Ensure availability of pharmacy and medical stock.
- Maintain FEFO and FIFO stock management principles.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and alarm thresholds.
- Prepare and dispatch orders for wards and departments.
- Maintain stock cards and software records accurately.
Inventory & Documentation
- Participate in regular inventories and stock counts.
- Maintain accurate stock movement records.
- Ensure documentation is audit-ready.
- Prepare stock reports for supervisors.
Cold Chain & Storage Monitoring
- Monitor pharmacy temperature and humidity conditions.
- Ensure proper handling of cold chain products.
- Work with logistics teams to maintain refrigeration equipment.
- Report storage deviations immediately.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Identify and quarantine expired or damaged medicines.
- Maintain suspensory ledgers for quarantined stock.
- Ensure medicines are issued only with proper authorization.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and inventory procedures.
Security & Safety
- Restrict warehouse access to authorized personnel only.
- Ensure warehouse doors and exits are secured.
- Report theft, damage, or attempted break-ins immediately.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science.
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience with NGOs or MSF is an added advantage.

- Swahili — Required
- English — Desirable
