SALES OFFICER
📍 Location: Dodoma
ROLE PURPOSE
To grow the company’s active loan portfolio and client base by identifying, acquiring, and retaining clients within the assigned territory or branch catchment area.
The Sales Officer is the primary point of contact between the company and prospective borrowers — responsible for generating leads, conducting client visits, appraising loan applications, and ensuring a high-quality client experience from first contact through to disbursement and beyond.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify and approach prospective clients through field visits, community activations, referrals, market visits, and partnerships with local groups, cooperatives, and associations.
- Conduct client sensitization sessions to educate prospective borrowers on the company’s products, terms, and client obligations.
- Generate and manage a healthy pipeline of loan applicants to meet monthly and quarterly disbursement targets.
- Promote all company loan products and cross-sell relevant financial services (e.g. insurance) to eligible clients.
- Conduct thorough client interviews and home/business visits to assess creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and business viability.
- Collect, review, and verify all required loan documentation in line with the company’s KYC and AML requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients to encourage repeat borrowing and referrals.
- Handle client queries, concerns, and complaints professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the Branch Manager.
- Collect and relay client feedback on products and services to the Branch Manager and Business Development team.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly activity and performance reports as required.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, credit procedures, ethical lending standards, and client protection principles.
- Participate in branch meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. Candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a sales, loan officer, field agent, or customer-facing role within a financial institution, microfinance company, or similar environment.
