Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to manage the operational site’s Safety & Fleet Management function to ensure compliance with:
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
- Road Transport legislation
- Corporate governance standards
- AB InBev Safety Policies and Standards
The successful candidate will ensure the company operates lawfully, ethically, and safely while maintaining efficient fleet management systems and safety culture within operations.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Road Traffic Act
- Maintain sustainable fleet standards across the site
- Conduct daily fleet inspections to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
- Report daily fleet availability for:
- Trucks
- Trailers
- FLTs
- MFLTs
Fleet Management & Maintenance
- Maintain proper records including:
- Maintenance job cards
- Licensing history
- Pre-trip inspections
- Understand maintenance requirements for:
- Trucks
- Trailers
- Forklifts
- Warehouse cleaning equipment
- Manage spare parts inventory, including tyre management and stock controls
Safety & Operational Standards
- Implement and sustain DPO Fleet and Safety Pillars through audits and self-assessments
- Promote and strengthen SHE programmes and safety culture
- Ensure workshop safety through 5S standards and maintenance SOP reviews
- Monitor audits, surveys, and maintenance activities to address safety risks
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Consolidate asset verification in line with BRN
- Manage master data requisitions and changes
- Ensure adherence to site procedures and work instructions
- Manage expenditure against approved budgets and latest estimates
- Drive innovation, benchmarking, and process improvement initiatives for operational KPIs
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant 3-year tertiary Degree or Diploma
- 2–3 years’ experience in fleet management or related functional role
- Knowledge of:
- Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Road Traffic Act
- Governance standards
- Business and financial acumen
- Inventory control knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of SAP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Health and safety knowledge
- People management experience is an added advantage
