About the school
The School of St Jude is a charity-funded school in Tanzania. St Jude’s is funded by generous supporters from around the world who make our mission possible: providing bright Tanzanian students from poor backgrounds with free, quality education.
The School of St Jude is pleased to announce a job opportunity for a cleaner for Tanzanians with the required qualifications.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare tea / porridge, fruits, and lunch for students and staff, such as vegetables, rice, beans, meat, and other foods according to the guided meal schedule.
- Serve food into containers, namely dishes, buckets, trays, and hand it over to student table leaders.
- Report to the teacher or staff member on duty if students have left the dining hall or if utensils are dirty.
- Keep utensils and other kitchen equipment in good condition and clean at all times.
- Ensure the protection and safety of students assisting with kitchen work.
- Work with the head cook/his or her assistant to ensure that no unauthorized person or student enters the kitchen.
Applicant qualifications
- The applicant should be able to maintain the environment well, including using a grass-cutting machine.
- The applicant should have experience in environmental maintenance, including gardens, flowers, and collection and separation of waste.
- The applicant should live in an area close to the School of St Jude.
- The applicant should be a Tanzanian citizen aged not less than 28 years.
- The applicant should have customer service skills and the ability to follow work procedures.

The applicant must fully meet the following requirements:

- Applications should be submitted to the School of St. Jude, Moshono, Sisia Campus, before or on Monday, 20 May 2026. Applications submitted after the scheduled date and time will not be processed.
