Role and Responsibilities
Country Office Financial Management & Controls
- Manage NAD Zanzibar’s finances while maintaining strong internal controls and accountability.
- Handle payroll administration and statutory compliance.
- Track budgets and support budget adjustments.
- Manage cash and bank operations.
- Oversee procurement processes and payments.
Partner Finance & Subgrant Coordination
- Support partner organizations with budgeting and financial reporting.
- Review financial reports and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
- Coordinate fund requests and transfers.
- Supervise subgrants and monitor advances and deferred grant income.
- Strengthen partners’ financial management capacity.
Anti-Corruption, Financial Assurance & Follow-up
- Strengthen internal financial controls and anti-corruption systems.
- Conduct financial reviews and spot checks.
- Follow up on audit findings and management recommendations.
- Support financial accountability across programs and partnerships.
Strategic Finance Contribution & Sustainability
- Support programme and proposal budgeting.
- Participate in programme development activities.
- Represent NAD Zanzibar in finance-related forums.
- Contribute to shared learning within NAD’s global finance team.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in financial management, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded programs.
- Experience working with donor requirements, grants, subgrants, and partner organizations.
- Good knowledge of Tanzanian/Zanzibar financial, tax, and labor regulations.
- Experience supporting audits, financial reviews, and follow-up on audit recommendations.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance staff and partners.
