The Opportunity

Geita Gold Mining Limited is seeking a Manager, Finance Business Partnership to play a key leadership role in steering the Finance function toward strategic and operational excellence within the Africa Business Unit.

The successful candidate will manage a dedicated team responsible for delivering insightful business analysis and proactive financial partnership. This role will directly influence site performance and operational success through expert oversight of planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and continuous performance improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Planning, budgeting and forecasting

The Manager, Finance Business Partnership will be responsible for leading and overseeing advanced financial planning processes that align with regional and corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive advanced financial planning framework to support the mine’s strategic direction.
  • Leading the development of accurate annual budgets in collaboration with cross-functional departments.
  • Ensuring budgets reflect operational realities and the strategic priorities of Geita Gold Mining.
  • Guiding the development of advanced rolling forecasts by integrating macroeconomic and microeconomic factors.
  • Providing enhanced forecast accuracy and strategic foresight.
  • Influencing and coordinating the annual business plan, operating budget, and revised forecasts.
  • Optimizing financial resources to support business priorities efficiently.
  • Supporting strategic decision-making for site and regional business plans.
  • Ensuring strong financial alignment and risk management.
  • Monitoring actual financial performance against approved budgets.
  • Providing variance analysis and actionable insights to stakeholders.

Performance management and reporting

The role will involve leading financial and operational reporting processes while strengthening data-driven decision-making across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the generation of comprehensive and accurate financial and operational reports at site level.
  • Ensuring strong data integrity and insightful analysis for senior executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Designing and implementing advanced performance management systems.
  • Using modern tools and analytics technologies to streamline reporting and improve decision-making.
  • Conducting detailed business analysis to identify strategic improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting initiatives that improve profitability, operational efficiency, and regional performance.
  • Developing and implementing performance management initiatives that drive productivity and operational excellence.
  • Using advanced data analytics to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and recommend evidence-based actions.
  • Evaluating the financial feasibility of key strategic projects, including expansions and scenario planning.
  • Supporting capital investment optimization and long-term value creation.

The successful candidate will be expected to build strong stakeholder relationships, lead a high-performing team, and support continuous improvement in finance business partnership processes.

  • A professional designation such as:

  • Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or master’s degree in finance will be an added advantage.

Experience and Skills

  • A proven track record of 5–7 years in financial forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting within operational environments.
  • At least 5 years of substantial financial experience within the mining industry.
  • A clear understanding of mining operations and value chains.
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Cost management
    • Advanced financial analytics
    • Financial modeling
  • Ability to apply complex financial insights to optimize both financial and operational outcomes.
  • Proficiency in advanced financial systems and tools, including:
    • Excel
    • TM1
    • HFM
  • Experience managing and developing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • A successful track record in leading cross-functional cost improvement initiatives with measurable impact.
