Objective of the role

Geita Gold Mine is seeking a Technical Aid 2 – Exploration to provide field and technical support to Geologists and Technicians during exploration activities, drilling operations, sampling, and core yard work.

The role supports safe and efficient geological fieldwork both on-site and off-site.

Role accountabilities

The Technical Aid 2 – Exploration will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support exploration field activities, drilling programmes, and geology-related tasks.
  • Assist with sample collection, labelling, transportation, and handover.
  • Support drill site preparation, drill pad inspections, and drilling quality monitoring.
  • Assist with core fitting, metre marking, and sampling in the Core Yard.
  • Maintain field equipment, consumables, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.
  • Promote and comply with HSE standards, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
  • Work closely with geologists, technicians, assistants, and contractors to support exploration workflows.

Role requirements

Education and qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • Secondary school certificate or equivalent qualification.

Experience, knowledge, and skills

Applicants should have the following experience, knowledge, and skills:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in geological fieldwork, drilling, sampling, or mining-related activities.
  • Good awareness of workplace safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Fluency in Swahili.
  • English language skills will be an added advantage.
  • Basic MS Word and Excel skills will be an added advantage.
  • A valid Tanzanian driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
