Position: Finance Officer

Reporting To

Manager – Accounts & GL Control

Department

Finance Department

Responsible For

Bank payments, GL reconciliation, and finance-related activities.

Working Hours

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Additional hours as required by the workload.


Purpose of the Job

To ensure accurate and timely validation and end-to-end processing of all internal and external bank payments, maintain the integrity of financial records through regular Finance General Ledger reconciliations, and provide reliable backup support for regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with applicable banking and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Validation of all staff claims and invoices received from Administrations and other departments.
  • Assign document reference codes for all payments directly received by the Finance payment section.
  • Cross-check budget and ensure proper approvals as per Bank delegation of authority on all invoice and staff claims before processing.
  • Prepare reports capturing all unbudgeted paid items monthly and year-to-date position.
  • Provide WHT tax certificates to all bank vendors after payments every month.
  • Make payments to all bank suppliers and staff as per stipulated timeline.
  • Send IT &/or through the TISS model and other correspondent payments and ensure supplier payables have zero balance after end of day.
  • Prepare monthly depreciation of all assets, post monthly amortisation schedules, and ensure monthly accruals are posted before the 25th of every month.
  • Reconcile accrual expenditures GL monthly and continuously ensure pending supplier status is updated.
  • Perform reconciliation of Finance GLS & clearance of pending items timely and appropriately.
  • Perform daily reviews of posted journals by another payment officer.
  • Provide payment advice instantly to all bank vendors on each payment made.
  • Ensure all payment documents for paid invoices and staff claims are stamped “PAID” and properly filed.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports before month-end to ensure proper monthly accruals and reversals are done.
  • Prepare final monthly cost analysis reports for management.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate in Finance / Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in finance.
  • CPA certification is an added advantage.
