Position Summary

TICGL is seeking a highly analytical and research-oriented Policy Analyst to support:

• Policy research
• Economic analysis
• Investment intelligence
• Strategic advisory initiatives

The successful candidate will contribute to evidence-based policy development, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and preparation of analytical reports related to Tanzania’s socio-economic and investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct policy research and socio-economic analysis.
• Analyse government policies, regulations, and economic trends.
• Prepare policy briefs, analytical reports, white papers, and strategic recommendations.
• Support investment and sectoral research projects.
• Collect, clean, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
• Monitor policy reforms and market intelligence across Tanzania and East Africa.
• Participate in stakeholder consultations, workshops, and policy forums.
• Develop presentations, dashboards, and visual reports.
• Support proposal development and consultancy assignments.
• Collaborate with economists, researchers, and consultants on multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure research outputs meet professional and institutional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Economics
• Public Policy
• Political Science
• Development Studies
• International Relations
• Statistics
• Finance
• Related field

Master’s Degree is an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of professional experience in:

• Policy analysis
• Economic research
• Public sector advisory
• Management consulting
• Think tanks
• NGOs or international development institutions
• Research organisations

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent report writing and policy drafting ability
• Knowledge of Tanzania’s economic and policy environment
• Understanding of public policy and governance systems
• Data analysis and research capability

• Experience with:

  • Similar research/data tools
• Strong communication and presentation skills
