Role Purpose

The Project Officer will support the Project Coordinator and the Zonal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in project planning, implementation, monitoring, research, and learning initiatives.

The position holder will work closely with project stakeholders including:

  • Council Health Management Teams (CHMT)
  • District Community Development Department
  • Social Welfare Department
  • District Education Department
  • Primary and Secondary Schools
  • School Quality Assurers

The officer will also support project documentation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Assist in coordinating trainings, meetings, and workshops.
  • Support administrative work and project correspondence follow-up.
  • Coordinate regular progress review meetings with volunteers and partners.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly partner work plans.
  • Collect and document case studies, success stories, photos, and lessons learned.
  • Support monitoring and supportive supervision activities.
  • Represent the project team in district meetings and stakeholder workshops.
  • Follow up procurement requests and field work plans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Project Management
    • Public Health
    • Education
    • Sociology
    • Community Development
    • Demography
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project or program management within NGOs.
  • Ability to coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate project activities.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies including:
    • Log frames
    • Theory of Change
    • Monitoring tools
  • Understanding of Results-Based Management (RBM) principles.
  • Knowledge in the following areas is an added advantage:
    • Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
    • Education
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Child Protection
    • Youth Economic Empowerment
    • Climate Change
    • Gender and Inclusion
