Key Outputs & Responsibilities

Leadership Support: Assist the General Manager with all roles and responsibilities in leading Mnemba Island.

Operations Oversight: Oversee operations and support the Operations Manager and Hospitality Manager where needed to ensure guest delights and signature &Beyond guest experiences are met daily.

Guest Relations: Participate in daily guest interaction, including check-ins, room allocations, and overseeing the functions of Housekeeping, Butlers, and the Kitchen.

Financial Management: Participate in lodge Opex and Capex budget management.

Procurement: Take overall responsibility for Uniform Orders and bi-yearly South Africa orders.

Product & Standards: Manage, implement, and update the FBC to-do list and look for ways to edge the product.

Supplier & Project Management: Participate in and oversee projects, maintaining healthy relationships with suppliers where needed.

PR & Communication: Take overall responsibility for Social Media and PR-related communication.

Administration & Reporting: Assist the General Manager with daily administration, weekly/monthly reporting, and liaising with Regional Support Teams.

Conservation & Community: Assist in overseeing all conservation projects on Mnemba Island, building relationships with Government, Mimca, and the Africa Foundation. Drive Community development projects forward and ensure regular guest exposure to these initiatives.

Human Resources & IR: Ensure procedures around performance management and annual performance appraisals are maintained. Maintain employee files, staff contracts, and assist with Industrial Relations (IR) issues and discipline. Ensure the Monthly HR Report is submitted in a timely manner.

Staff Development: Assist in training and developing staff as necessary, and assist in maintaining the relationship with Chadewu.

Strategic Planning: Assist in holding edging and strategic management meetings, including departmental and regional meetings.
Job Requirements (Qualifications & Knowledge)

Education: Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.

Experience: 3 to 4 years of relevant hospitality experience.

Digital Skills: Fully computer literate.

Language: Fluent in English (both oral and written).
