Position Overview
The project Driver will ensure that assigned vehicles are properly driven and maintained to effectively support the implementation of program activities at the local level. Additionally, this role provides logistical and administrative backup support to the respective field office.
Major Activities and Responsibilities
Vehicle Operations and Maintenance

General Driving: Drive assigned Pathfinder vehicles to authorized areas while strictly adhering to Pathfinder policies and local traffic regulations.

Safety and Security: Ensure designated vehicles are fully operational, licensed, and insured in compliance with the law. Ensure all passengers are securely belted before embarking on any trip.

Daily Inspections: Conduct daily pre-inspection tests on the assigned vehicle, including checking oil levels, water levels, tire pressure, and brake fluid levels.

Defect Reporting: Promptly report any vehicle accidents or defects to the supervisor of record.

Record Keeping: Accurately record mileage in the logbook and submit monthly mileage summaries to the Finance department.
Administrative and Logistics Support

Field Office Support: Work closely with the project team to extend backup support on secretarial duties, including printing, photocopying, scanning, handling office retirements, and procuring office items.

Daily Administration: Assist with daily office administrative tasks such as provisioning supplies, filing, sorting mail, and handling courier or mail delivery using the assigned vehicle.

Inventory Coordination: Load and unload supplies from the vehicle, and organize or arrange items systematically in the storeroom.

Project Participation: Lead, manage, or participate in cross-functional project teams and assist with logistics or data collection specific to the project.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education and Work Experience

Education: Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

Licensing: Clean and valid driving license of the appropriate class complying with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Certification: Driving certificate, preferably from the National Institute of Transport (NIT) or VETA.

Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience working with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) is preferred.

Clearance: Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.

Asset: A Certificate of Driving Ethics from a recognized institution like NIT is an additional advantage.
Physical & Travel Requirements

Must have the full ability to drive the assigned vehicle and see 20/20 (with corrective lenses if necessary).

Ability to travel frequently (at least 50% travel required as part of the job).
