1.0 INTRODUCTION
National Housing Corporation (NHC) was established under Act No. 45 of 1962 with the responsibility of addressing urban housing challenges in Tanzania. It was later reconstituted through Act No. 2 of 1990 to facilitate the provision of housing and other buildings for public use.
In 2005, the Act was amended through the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act No. 2 to enable the Corporation to operate on sound commercial principles.

2.0 POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER II (6 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure capital projects are implemented according to approved plans, designs, and strategic objectives.
- Oversee physical and capital planning activities.
- Coordinate project implementation within budget and timelines.
- Inspect civil infrastructure and buildings.
- Provide preventive maintenance services.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and cost estimates.
- Prepare tender documents and participate in tender evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Civil Engineering
- Service Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Or equivalent qualification
- Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.

3.0 POSITION: QUANTITY SURVEYOR II (5 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Calculate quantities and costs of materials and labor.
- Participate in contract preparation.
- Conduct cost analysis for maintenance and repair works.
- Carry out feasibility studies.
- Analyze completed works and process contractor payments.
- Conduct site visits and future work projections.
- Perform related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Quantity Surveying
- Building Economics
- Construction Management
- Building Survey
- Or equivalent qualification
- Must be registered with the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB) as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.

4.0 POSITION: ARCHITECT II (12 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare building and landscape designs.
- Produce detailed architectural drawings and specifications.
- Use design software such as:
- AutoCAD
- ArchiCAD
- Other CAD applications
- Liaise with construction professionals.
- Ensure compliance with planning regulations and budgets.
- Facilitate building permit applications.
- Assess real estate development proposals.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Prepare architectural reports.
- Participate in project implementation and maintenance programs.
- Prepare periodic project reports.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Architecture
- Building Design
- Architectural & Building Engineering Technology
- Landscape Architecture
- Architectural Technology

- Interior Design
- Or equivalent qualification
- Must be registered with AQRB as a Graduate Architect.

5.0 POSITION: TECHNICIAN – CIVIL (8 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain buildings, plumbing systems, and furniture.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities.
- Implement maintenance plans.
- Supervise aluminium fabrication works.
- Ensure production schedules are met efficiently.
- Operate aluminium fabrication machinery including:
- Punch Tools
- Mitre Saw
- Copy Router
- Pillar Drill
- Conduct daily machine maintenance.
- Ensure tools and machines are properly maintained.
- Inspect and remove broken glass before installation.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in:
- Civil Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Or equivalent qualification

6.0 POSITION: SAFETY OFFICER (6 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Investigate accidents and unsafe conditions.
- Conduct health and safety training.
- Assess operational risks and hazards.
- Prevent environmental pollution.
- Conduct safety observations and inspections.
- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports.
- Assist in implementing occupational health and safety systems.
- Perform related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in:
- Environmental Engineering
- Environmental Science and Management
- Must possess a valid OSHA Construction Certificate.

7.0 POSITION: RECORD MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II (3 POSTS)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare file registers.
- Verify document attachments.
- Update file movement records.
- Check outgoing correspondence for errors.
- Ensure documents are properly signed.
- Ensure correct postage and dispatch.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma (NTA Level 6) in:
- Records Management
- Archives Management
- Or related field

8.0 POSITION: LEGAL OFFICER II (1 POST)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Draft and administer agreements and contracts.
- Monitor contract renewals, extensions, and terminations.
- Maintain contractual records and documentation.
- Review contractual risks and advise management.
- Provide legal opinions and reports.
- Monitor contract performance and dispute indicators.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
- Must have completed Practical Legal Training at the Law School of Tanzania.
