Junior Accountant
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA (T), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification in progress will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Experience in:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Bank Reconciliations
- General Ledger postings
- Experience using accounting software such as:
- SAP
- Zoho Books
- QuickBooks
- Sage
- Other ERP systems
- Exposure to:
- Tax compliance
- Payroll processing
- Month-end financial reporting
will be an added advantage.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and support multiple entities or business units.
Key Responsibilities
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for:
- Processing supplier invoices and employee reimbursements.
- Preparing customer invoices and following up on outstanding receivables.
- Performing bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assisting with monthly payroll processing and statutory filings.
- Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Preparing financial reports and schedules as required.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Performing any other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
