Job Vacancy: Product Technician
Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting smart meter operations, maintaining company-provided equipment, managing workshop resources, and providing basic IT and technical support services. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting operational deadlines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Keep safe and properly manage company support resources, including:
- Laptops
- Mobile phones
- Tools and equipment
- Ensure the smart meter workshop, tools, and office environment are secure, organized, and tidy.
- Support smart meter operations and related technical activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
Key Capabilities
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in configuring and supporting:
- Windows 10 computers
- Android mobile devices
- Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office 365 user and group administration
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Basic understanding of:
- ITIL processes
- ITIL terminology
- Strong willingness to:
- Learn new technologies
- Continuously improve technical skills
- Knowledge of hardware (especially embedded hardware) and firmware interaction will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma or Degree in any of the following fields:
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology (IT)
- Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
