Job Vacancy: Human Resources Officer (Rewards & HR Operations)

Position Summary

The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for managing compensation and benefits, HR information systems (HRIS), recruitment, employee documentation, performance management, staff development, and employee relations.

The role supports the development and implementation of reward strategies, HR policies, and workforce management initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Compensation and Benefits Management

  • Participate in salary surveys to benchmark market compensation practices.
  • Review and update reward and benefits policies.
  • Develop competitive employee benefit packages based on market trends.
  • Implement and monitor the organization’s salary structure.
  • Participate in annual salary reviews and bonus administration in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure fair compensation through job evaluation, grading structures, and incentive programs.
  • Review, negotiate, and approve employee insurance contracts, including:
    • Medical Insurance
    • Group Life Insurance
  • Create and maintain Total Reward Statements for employees.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate tax and benefits administration for expatriate and overseas employees.

Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

  • Implement HRIS improvements to support emerging business and HR needs.
  • Develop and maintain HR reports and analytics.
  • Capture and update employee information in the HRIS, including:
    • Personal details
    • Qualifications
    • Photographs
    • Signatures
    • Employment history
    • Dependents’ information
    • Biodata records

Recruitment and Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Conduct employment and education background checks for new hires.
  • Coordinate recruitment and selection activities.
  • Facilitate onboarding and issuance of employment contracts.
  • Manage employee exit and off-boarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation.

Employee Relations and Performance Management

  • Monitor and support disciplinary processes.
  • Handle employee grievances and workplace concerns.
  • Participate in annual performance appraisal exercises using the Balanced Scorecard framework.
  • Support performance evaluation and employee development initiatives.

Training and Development

  • Conduct training needs assessments.
  • Develop and implement staff training plans.
  • Coordinate learning and development programs across all levels of the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness.

HR Reporting and Administration

  • Design and implement HR reporting calendars.
  • Prepare management reports and workforce analytics.
  • Analyze employee data and reward information.
  • Develop effective communication and feedback mechanisms.

Daily Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain HR records and documentation.
  • Generate HR reports for management decision-making.
  • Implement employee communication and feedback initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Public Administration
    • Related field

Added Advantage

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.

Professional Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in HR systems.

Experience Requirements

Minimum Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
