Position Summary
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary HR contact for employees and line management, ensuring effective delivery of HR strategies, policies, and processes.
The role is responsible for driving organizational effectiveness through workforce planning, talent management, performance management, employee relations, organizational development, succession planning, and strategic business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Business Partnering
- Act as the primary HR contact for staff and line managers.
- Provide proactive HR support to business units.
- Advise management on people-related matters and organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure HR initiatives align with business objectives and organizational strategy.
2. Organization Design and Change Management
- Lead and champion organizational design initiatives.
- Support restructuring and workforce optimization programs.
- Develop business-aligned organizational structures.
- Manage and implement change management initiatives.
- Partner with management to facilitate smooth organizational transitions.
3. Performance Management
- Lead implementation of the performance management framework.
- Coordinate the annual performance management cycle.
- Manage:
- Performance reviews
- Appraisals
- Moderation exercises
- Performance improvement plans
- Non-performance management processes
- Ensure performance outcomes support business goals.
4. Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Selection
In collaboration with the Resourcing Department:
- Develop manpower plans.
- Identify workforce requirements.
- Coordinate recruitment and selection activities.
- Ensure timely filling of critical positions.
- Support talent acquisition strategies.
5. Learning, Development and Talent Management
Working closely with the Learning and Development team, the HRBP will:
- Identify competency and skills gaps.
- Recommend and implement training interventions.
- Support employee development initiatives.
- Drive talent identification and retention strategies.
- Develop succession plans for critical roles.
- Support leadership pipeline development.
6. Employee Relations and Wellness
In collaboration with the Employee Relations and Wellness Department:
- Promote a positive and productive work environment.
- Implement employee engagement initiatives.
- Manage employee recognition programs.
- Handle disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Support staff wellness and wellbeing programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment policies and procedures.
7. Reward and Compensation Management
Working closely with the Reward and Policy Department:
- Support the development of performance-based reward systems.
- Contribute to compensation and incentive strategies.
- Promote equitable and competitive reward practices.
- Ensure reward programs support organizational performance goals.
8. Stakeholder and Relationship Management
Develop and maintain effective relationships with:
Internal Stakeholders
- Employees
- Line Managers
- Heads of Department
- Functional Directors
- Regional Managers
- Branch Managers
External Stakeholders
- Service providers
- Consultants
- HR partners
- Regulatory bodies where applicable
9. HR Records and Data Management
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
- Prepare workforce reports and analytics.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of employee data.
- Generate HR statistics and management reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resource Management
- Business Administration
- Any Business-Related Field
Added Advantage
- Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or a specialized HR discipline.
- Master’s Degree in:
