Regional Sales Systems Manager – Africa

Contract Type

Fixed-Term Contract (1–2 Years)

Working Hours

Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday; local arrangements may vary by country)

Salary Band

BG 9 (Salary aligned with local country salary structures)

The position may be based in any of the following countries:

Role Overview

The Regional Sales Systems Manager – Africa will lead the strategy, governance, implementation, and optimization of sales systems across MSI’s Africa region.

The role ensures that commercial systems directly support:

  • Business growth
  • Sales performance management
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Operational efficiency
  • Commercial reporting and analytics

The position will oversee the regional sales systems ecosystem, ensuring standardization, scalability, integration, and adoption across multiple countries.

The successful candidate will work closely with:

  • Country Programmes (CPs)
  • Sales teams
  • Distributors
  • Commercial partners
  • IT teams
  • System vendors

to ensure that sales processes and systems are effectively utilized to improve commercial performance.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Systems Strategy & Governance

  • Lead the regional strategy for sales systems and commercial technology platforms.
  • Drive standardization and scalability of sales systems across African markets.
  • Ensure alignment of systems, processes, and commercial objectives.
  • Establish governance structures for system implementation and usage.

Commercial Performance Management

  • Develop systems that improve:
    • Sales productivity
    • Conversion rates
    • Customer acquisition
    • Operational efficiency
  • Define and track commercial KPIs across the region.
  • Ensure real-time visibility of commercial performance metrics.

Data Management & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain data accuracy levels above 95%.
  • Develop and implement:
    • Data governance frameworks
    • Validation procedures
    • Quality assurance controls
  • Improve data integrity and reporting reliability across markets.

Systems Implementation & Optimization

  • Lead system rollout and harmonization projects across multiple countries.
  • Support adoption of CRM and Sales Force Automation (SFA) platforms.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to optimize commercial systems.
  • Ensure systems are responsive to local market realities.

Dashboard & Reporting Development

  • Design and improve:
    • Sales dashboards
    • Commercial reports
    • Performance tracking tools
  • Provide insights that support strategic decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with:
    • Country Programme teams
    • Distributors
    • Sales leadership
    • Commercial stakeholders
  • Drive system adoption and process compliance.
  • Translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions.

Required Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong experience with CRM and Sales Force Automation (SFA) platforms
  • Expertise in commercial ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data governance
    • Data validation
    • Data quality assurance
  • Systems thinking and process optimization capability
  • Dashboard and reporting design experience
  • Advanced digital literacy
  • Strong project management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical users

Required Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • 6–8+ years of experience in:
    • Sales Operations
    • CRM/SFA Management
    • Systems Implementation
    • Commercial Technology Platforms
  • Experience with platforms such as:
    • Salesforce
    • Microsoft Dynamics
    • HubSpot
    • Saneforce
    • Similar CRM ecosystems
  • Experience leading multi-country system rollouts
  • Experience working directly with field sales teams
  • Proven success in improving sales performance through systems and process enhancements
  • Experience managing data accuracy improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with distributors and commercial partners

Preferred Industry Experience

  • FMCG
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Consumer Health
  • Socially Marketed Products

Africa Experience (Mandatory)

Candidates must have:

  • Significant experience working within African markets.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Distributor models
    • Field sales operations
    • Local commercial environments
  • Practical on-the-ground experience in Africa (not solely remote experience).

Education Requirements

A degree in any of the following areas is desirable:

  • Information Systems
  • Business Administration
  • Data Management
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Related disciplines

Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
