Job Purpose
The Regional Sales Manager – Africa will lead commercial performance across MSI’s Africa region by strengthening sales operations, improving route-to-market strategies, and driving execution excellence.
The position will oversee regional sales performance, support country programmes (CPs), and ensure commercial strategies are translated into measurable business results.
The role serves as a strategic commercial partner to country programmes and distributors, identifying performance gaps and implementing solutions that drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance Management
- Lead regional sales performance oversight.
- Monitor achievement of commercial targets across African markets.
- Ensure execution of commercial strategies and sales plans.
- Drive continuous performance improvement initiatives.
Route-to-Market Optimization
- Analyze existing distribution and sales models.
- Identify structural gaps and performance bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement improved route-to-market strategies.
- Strengthen distribution effectiveness and market coverage.
Distributor and Partner Management
- Work closely with distributors and commercial partners.
- Strengthen distributor performance and accountability.
- Support distributor capability development.
- Ensure alignment between regional commercial objectives and partner activities.
Sales Planning and Execution
- Drive disciplined sales planning and implementation.
- Monitor execution of country-level commercial activities.
- Develop structured action plans to improve sales performance.
- Track implementation and results against agreed targets.
Incentives and Promotional Programs
- Design, review, and evaluate:
- Sales incentive programs
- Trade promotions
- Distributor incentive schemes
- Assess return on investment (ROI) and business impact.
Performance Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze sales and distribution data.
- Monitor key performance indicators.
- Generate actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Recommend strategies for revenue growth and market expansion.
Stakeholder Management
- Influence decision-making across multiple countries.
- Build strong working relationships with:
- Country Programme teams
- Regional leadership
- Distributors
- Commercial partners
- External stakeholders
- Hold stakeholders accountable for agreed results while maintaining collaborative relationships.
Coaching and Capability Building
- Strengthen commercial capabilities across country programmes.
- Coach sales and distribution teams.
- Support development of best practices across markets.
- Promote a culture of performance and accountability.

- Operating within African markets.

Experience in one or more of the following sectors is highly desirable:

Educational Qualifications
