Working Hours
Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday; local arrangements may vary by country)
Salary Band
BG 9 (Salary determined according to local country salary structures)
Duty Stations
The position may be based in any of the following locations:

- London, United Kingdom (minimum 2 days per week in office)
Role Overview
The Regional Marketing Manager – Africa will lead MSI’s regional marketing strategy, performance management, and capability development across African markets.
The role is responsible for translating global brand and product strategies into impactful regional marketing initiatives that drive:
- Demand generation
- Client acquisition and retention
- Brand visibility
- Commercial performance
- Market growth
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to country programmes (CPs), ensuring marketing activities are insight-driven, performance-focused, scalable, and locally relevant.
This position combines strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, performance management, and capability building to strengthen MSI’s marketing effectiveness across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement regional marketing strategies aligned with MSI’s global objectives.
- Translate global brand and product strategies into market-specific initiatives.
- Ensure marketing approaches are relevant to diverse African markets.
- Drive consistent brand positioning across the region.
Brand Management
- Maintain strong brand stewardship across all country programmes.
- Balance adherence to global brand standards with local market adaptation.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across campaigns and channels.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Lead integrated marketing campaigns across:
- Digital channels
- Traditional media
- Community engagement platforms
- Behaviour change communication initiatives
- Support countries in planning and executing effective campaigns.
- Ensure campaigns are data-driven and results-oriented.
Market Insights & Consumer Understanding
- Utilize market research and consumer insights to guide strategy.
- Analyze customer behavior, segmentation, and market trends.
- Convert insights into actionable marketing plans.
Performance Management
- Define and monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs).
- Measure campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and performance reviews.
Capability Building
- Coach and mentor country-level marketing teams.
- Strengthen marketing competencies across country programmes.
- Establish best practices and performance standards throughout the region.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with:
- Country leadership teams
- Global marketing teams
- External agencies
- Strategic partners
- Influence decision-making and drive accountability for marketing results.
Required Skills

- Strategic marketing planning expertise
- Ability to interpret data and convert insights into practical marketing strategies
- Experience in integrated marketing across digital and offline channels

- Knowledge of social marketing principles

- Strong communication and presentation skills

Required Experience
Candidates should possess:
- 6–8+ years of professional experience in:
- Marketing Management
- Brand Management
- Commercial Marketing
- Strategic Communications
- Significant experience working within African markets.
- Hands-on experience understanding:
- Consumer behavior
- Channel dynamics
- Market realities across Africa
- Experience managing marketing agencies and integrated campaigns.
- Experience leading and influencing country-level marketing teams.
- Experience driving accountability and performance across multiple markets.
- Experience working in one or more of the following sectors:
- Healthcare
- Social Marketing
- FMCG
- Regulated Service Industries
- Experience working in culturally diverse and resource-constrained environments.
Education Requirements
A degree in any of the following fields is desirable:
- Marketing
- Communications
- Business Administration
- Public Health
- Related disciplines
Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
