Geita Gold Mining Limited is Tanzania’s leading gold producer and a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti.
The mine is located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields of northwestern Tanzania:
- Approximately 85 km from Mwanza City.
- Approximately 20 km southeast of Lake Victoria.
- Head Office located in Geita Town.
- Supporting office located in Dar es Salaam.
GGML is seeking ambitious, energetic, and performance-driven professionals to fill the position of Tools & Parts Coordinator.
Position Objective
To support Field Services in achieving engineering and maintenance targets by:
- Interpreting equipment manuals and technical drawings.
- Identifying and ordering correct spare parts.
- Optimizing resources required for planned maintenance activities.
- Managing routine and specialized tools.
- Ensuring maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Safety and Risk Management
- Identify workplace hazards and risks.
- Promote and maintain safe work practices.
- Support compliance with company safety procedures and standards.
Tools Management
- Maintain and update the tools register.
- Conduct quarterly tools audits.
- Prepare audit reports for:
- Senior Supervisor
- Superintendent
- Monitor tool availability and condition.
Parts and Inventory Coordination
- Identify and order the correct spare parts through the SIS system.
- Ensure spare parts align with maintenance work packages.
- Monitor parts usage and consumption trends.
- Control and manage reorder levels.
Maintenance Planning Support
- Prepare tools and parts required for:
- Planned maintenance
- Equipment breakdown repairs
- Raise maintenance work requests in the maintenance management system.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the planning team.
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Management
- Optimize spare parts and materials under VMI contracts.
- Coordinate inventory management with:
- MANTRAC
- SANDVIK
- Ensure availability of critical maintenance components.
Training and Technical Support
- Organize training on proper tool usage.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
- Support continuous improvement in tool management practices.
Budgeting and Resource Planning
- Prepare annual tools budgets.
- Recommend procurement requirements based on:
- Audit findings
- Operational requirements
- Business needs
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Required
- VETA Grade Test Level I–III in Motor Vehicle Mechanics
OR
- FTC/Diploma in:
- Automotive Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Added Advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
Experience
Applicants must have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with Heavy Mining Equipment (HME).
- Experience in maintenance and servicing of mining machinery.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience using SIS and OK Information Manuals.
- Knowledge of tools control software.
- Valid driving competence.

- Competence in Heavy Mining Equipment (HME).
