Role Summary
The GBV Program Officer will support the effective implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions in Tanzania. The position works closely with implementing partners to ensure quality programme delivery, documentation, and accountability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Implementation
- Support implementation and tracking of GBV programme activities and work plans.
- Assist in monitoring progress against programme objectives and targets.
- Ensure timely execution of planned interventions.
Monitoring, Reporting and Data Management
- Collect, compile, and analyze programme data.
- Prepare programme reports and documentation.
- Support evidence-based decision-making through data analysis.
Partner Coordination
- Coordinate with implementing partners and stakeholders.
- Organize meetings and support follow-up on agreed action points.
- Facilitate communication between NCA and partner organizations.
Training and Logistics Support
- Provide logistical support for:
- Trainings
- Workshops
- Field visits and missions
- Assist in organizing programme events and capacity-building activities.
Resource Mobilization and Documentation
- Contribute to proposal development.
- Support programme documentation and knowledge management.
- Assist in preparing donor and project-related reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Gender Studies
- Social Work
- Development Studies
- Sociology
- Human Rights
- Related Social Science disciplines
Professional Experience
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) programming.
- Experience working with NGOs or INGOs is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in:
- Programme implementation
- Coordination
- Reporting
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects is desirable.
Technical Competencies
The successful candidate should possess:
- Strong understanding of GBV concepts and protection principles.
- Knowledge of survivor-centered approaches.
- Understanding of GBV referral pathways and national GBV frameworks in Tanzania.
- Basic Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) skills.
- Strong report writing and data analysis abilities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality principles.
