Position Purpose
The Underground Tele-Remote Bogger Operator is responsible for conducting loading and dumping cycles between development and production areas, allocated stockpiles, tele-remote operations, and haulage trucks while ensuring safe and efficient underground mining activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Correctly use safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promptly report hazardous situations, incidents, accidents, and injuries.
- Take appropriate actions to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
- Bog development headings and stockpiles into trucks.
- Ensure trucks operate efficiently while keeping ore, low-grade, marginal, and waste materials separated.
- Bog out and clean mining faces.
- Inspect for misfires and immediately notify the Shift Supervisor when identified.
- Carry out hosing down and scaling activities as required.
- Operate remote bogging equipment from open stopes using RCT 2200 Tele-Remotes.
- Tram material from stockpiles and perform other bogging duties as assigned.
- Conduct backfilling of stopes using:
- Rockfill
- Cement Aggregate Fill (CAF)
- Cement Rock Fill (CRF)
- Keep all roads within the working area clean and free from pooling water and other hazards.
- Perform both manual and tele-remote bogging of production stopes to stockpiles.
- Apply sound mechanical knowledge in the operation and care of boggers and trucks.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of underground mining experience in hard rock mining within a mechanised underground mining environment.
- Experience operating underground haulage equipment.
- Experience with Sandvik 621 Loaders.
- Experience operating RCT 2200 Series Tele-Remote Boggers.
- Experience in backfilling stopes using:
- Rockfill
- Cement Aggregate Fill (CAF)
- Cement Rock Fill (CRF)
- Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence with good driving skills.
- Basic First Aid certification.
- Strong safety awareness and hazard identification skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of duties.
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Basic numeracy skills.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
