Position Purpose

The Underground Bogger Operator is responsible for bogging development headings and stockpiles, loading trucks, and carrying out ongoing underground road maintenance to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Correctly use safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promptly report hazardous situations, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Take necessary actions to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
  • Bog development headings and stockpiles into trucks.
  • Maintain truck productivity by ensuring ore, low-grade, marginal, and waste materials are kept separate.
  • Clean and bog mining faces, ensuring they are ready for the next operational cycle.
  • Perform additional duties such as hosing down, scaling, or marking up butts when required.
  • Keep all roads within the working area clean, safe, and free from hazards.
  • Minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the underground mining industry.
  • Experience in hard rock mining within a mechanised underground mining environment operating underground haulage equipment.
  • Previous experience operating Sandvik 621 Loaders.
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining practices and efficient loader operation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • Valid Tanzanian Driver’s Licence with good driving skills.
  • Basic First Aid certification.
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform varied tasks and responsibilities.
  • Completion of secondary school education.
  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
