Business Development Lead – DigiCash (Fintech)


About the Role

DigiCash is seeking a Business Development Lead to drive strategic growth, build partnerships, and expand its footprint within the fintech and payments ecosystem.

The role focuses on converting qualified opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships while working closely with leadership, product, operations, and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Partnerships

  • Manage and convert qualified leads into signed partnerships
  • Drive the full business development lifecycle (prospecting to onboarding)
  • Build strong relationships with merchants, enterprises, financial institutions, and strategic partners

Sales & Commercial Execution

  • Present DigiCash solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead commercial negotiations and partnership discussions
  • Follow up on contracts and ensure successful deal closure

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, operations, and technical teams for integrations
  • Support partner onboarding and long-term success
  • Participate in revenue and performance reviews with leadership

Pipeline & Market Intelligence

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline tracking
  • Provide regular updates on growth and opportunities
  • Identify market trends, customer pain points, and new opportunities
  • Support product and commercial strategy development

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure structured follow-ups and professional communication
  • Manage ongoing engagement with partners and stakeholders
  • Maintain high responsiveness across all business interactions

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Partnerships, or Account Management
  • Experience in Fintech, Banking, Telecom, or Payments
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Digital payments
    • Collections and disbursements
    • APIs and financial infrastructure
  • Existing network in Tanzanian fintech, banking, enterprise, or government sectors
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in English and Swahili
  • Proven ability to close B2B partnerships
  • Ability to work across technical, operational, and leadership teams
  • Strong pipeline management and organizational skills
  • Ability to simplify complex technical and financial concepts

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payment gateways or mobile money integrations
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales pipelines
  • Experience with enterprise or government partnerships
  • Understanding of Tanzanian fintech regulations and ecosystem
  • Experience in startups or fast-paced tech environments
  • Knowledge of API-based financial products and integrations
