Job Overview
Barrick Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking Jumbo Operator Trainers to support underground mining operations by training, supervising, and improving jumbo drilling activities. The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective underground development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation & Drilling Activities
- Perform pre-inspection of equipment before use
- Tram jumbo equipment to designated work areas
- Set up drilling equipment for operations
- Prepare and mark faces for drilling
- Install ground support systems
- Conduct drilling operations
- Ensure blasting holes are clean and ready
- Perform charging activities
- Remove and clean equipment after use
Training & Supervision
- Train and mentor trainees and junior operators
- Provide technical, practical, and field support
- Improve operational effectiveness and productivity
- Promote best practices in drilling operations
Monitoring & Reporting
- Record and report drilling performance
- Monitor and control drilling cycles and efficiency
- Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated according to company standards
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Barrick safety requirements
- Follow Mines Health & Safety regulations
- Maintain safe underground working practices
Qualifications
- College or technical training equivalent to 2 years of study
- Ability to read and understand ground support designs
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of jumbo rigs
- Good communication skills in English (oral and written)
- Team-oriented and results-driven mindset
- Strong awareness of mining health and safety standards
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating single and double boom jumbo rigs
- Experience in large-scale underground mining operations
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and reliability
