VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – ICU ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER (ANO)

Kitengule Hospital invites applications from qualified, competent, and dedicated healthcare professionals to fill the position of ICU Assistant Nursing Officer (ANO). We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for critical care nursing and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition to the responsible clinician.
- Assisting in the management of patients requiring life-support equipment, including ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, and other critical care devices.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Maintaining accurate and timely nursing records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensuring strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Assisting in emergency procedures, resuscitations, and other critical care interventions.
- Collaborating effectively with doctors and nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in quality improvement, continuous professional development, and departmental meetings.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management in line with professional competence and hospital requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC) and have a valid practicing license.
- Additional training or certification in Critical Care Nursing, ICU Nursing, Basic Life Support (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
- At least one (1) year of working experience in an Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit (HDU), Emergency Department.
- Sound knowledge of critical care nursing principles and patient monitoring.
- Ability to operate and monitor ICU equipment effectively.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient safety, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and extra duties as required by hospital operations.
